INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF MUSLIM LEADERS TO SUPPORT POPULATION AND DEVELOPMENT TO ACHIEVE THE MDGs
The National Family Planning Coordinating Board, Republic of Indonesia (BKKBN) and the
Secretariat of International Conference on Islamic Scholars (ICIS-NU), supported by the
United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA), had organized the International
Conference of Muslim Leaders to Support Population and Development to Achieve the
MDGs in Bali on February 12-16, 2007. The conference was attended by 203 participants
from 13 countries including Indonesian Moslem leaders from almost all provinces,
representatives from international organizations and donor institutions, provincial
BKKBN and related national NGOs. The conference had produced the Sanur-Bali
Declaration of the International Conference of Muslim Leaders on Population and
Development: Contributing to the Achievement of MDGs.
